I loved the friendship aspect and the bonding between Kulti and Sal, and there were butterflies in my stomach while reading this piece of work. Even at three in the morning I just couldn't put it down. And I really love soccer, so another pro for me. The sports aspect of this book was amazing. The story is about Salom Casillas, 27yrs old professional soccer player who, since age seven, worshipped Reiner Kulti, a 39yrs retired international soccer player with a status similar to contemporary Messi and Ronaldo. This was going to be the longest season of her life. Or the murderous urges he brought out in her.
Nothing could have prepared her for the man she got to know. The book portrayed so many different emotions, and I felt each and every single one. So she isn’t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team’s season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he’d once been. Mariana Zapata's writing was absolutely phenomenal and I fell in love with the plot and characters.

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world.
